Erin sits with her therapist, and he tells her to find Kevin to become friends again, or she will never be happy. She finds Kevin, and they plan to meet at the beach. Erin meets Sarah, Kevin’s fiancé, and she becomes jealous. While Kevin sits on the beach, Erin and Sarah are playing around in the water, Erin holds Sarah down, but releases her before she drowns. Sarah voices her concern to Kevin, and while Erin is at the snack bar, they leave. Erin realizes she still loves Kevin, and she wants to win him back. She plans to accidentally run into Kevin and Sarah at a restaurant, and she manages to get Stephen’s number. She calls him and manages to get a date. She tells Stephen she’s still in love with him and wants to make their relationship work. After some persuasion, he finally accepts. Kevin and Sarah are taking a trip to a bed and breakfast in Colorado, and invite Stephen and Erin. They drive down in a large SUV, taking turns driving. In the middle of the night, Erin is sitting in the passenger seat while Kevin drives, and they talk about their past. Erin believes Kevin still has some feelings for her.  They finally arrive in Colorado, and, after getting settled in their rooms, Stephen and Erin walk around the property. When they were far enough away from anyone who may be listening, Stephen tells Erin he knows she’s only here to try to break up Sarah and Kevin, and he wasn’t going to let her. He admits his doesn’t think they’re a good pairing, and Erin convinces him to help her. The next day, while the four of them are out on a hike, Erin trips Sarah “accidentally”, spraining her ankle, and Stephen takes her back to the lodge, leaving Erin and Kevin out to finish the hike. Erin kisses him, and he freaks out a bit, and insist they go back. That night, while Kevin and Stephen are out, Erin sits with Sarah, and tells her Kevin used to beat her, which is why they aren’t together anymore. Sarah says Kevin said it was because Erin cheated on him with his brother, but Erin said she only did that so he would be the one to break off their relationship, because if she said she wanted to end their relationship, he would go crazy and beat her. Erin decides to leave Sarah to rest, but before she leaves she mentions to Sarah not talk about the football game. Sarah is confused about what football game, but Erin leaves. Curious, Sarah stays awake until Kevin comes back. She tells him about her and Erin’s talk, and he seems relieved that they are getting along so well. Sarah decided to mention the football game, and when she does, Kevin gets angry and leaves. Erin was listening, and when she notices Kevin leaving, she follows him. Sarah can’t follow him because of her ankle. Kevin talks to Erin about Sarah mentioning the football game, and Erin says Stephen must have told her. Erin tries to seduce him then, but he pushes her away, warns her never to try to rekindle their relationship again, and goes back to Sarah. The next morning, Erin volunteers to drive Sarah to town to get some supplies for their scenic drive that day. The police then come to find Kevin and Stephen, and tell them that there’s been an accident. When they arrive at the hospital, Erin is sitting in the waiting room. She tells them Sarah is in the ER and they don’t know how long she will be there. She tells them, while they were driving, someone was passing a semi and ran into them, and Sarah wasn’t wearing her seatbelt. Kevin can’t believe it, because Sarah always wore her seatbelt. Erin says Sarah was taking off her sweater. Sarah dies. A week later, after the funeral, back in California, Erin meets up with Kevin, wanting to console him. She tries to get him to love her again, but he pushes her away. He realizes that the car accident was no accident, that somehow she must have sabotaged the accident and Sarah not wearing her seatbelt. Erin says she killed Sarah before they left the store, and a detective reveals himself, holding a gun to Erin. Kevin says the police knew she had been killed before the accident, they just needed a confession from her. Erin is arrested.
